We are TravelSmart VIP members and have stayed at the Royalton resort in the Dominican Republic and the Royalton resort in Saint Lucia. We arrived in Antigua on June 8th with our daughter, her husband and our two grandchildren from Newfoundland, Canada. Our expectations were for a resort that just opened five weeks prior but we were delightfully surprised and watched it transform even in the week we were there.
Check in was relatively quick at the Diamond Club lounge with cold drinks, snacks and amazing staff. We had our room within a half hour to 40 minutes.
We had two swim out rooms as we always do. The room was beautiful, spacious and clean.
The restaurants were all clean and had no trouble getting in with our party of 6. The staff, service and food we all amazing! Wait times were no different than that of any other restaurant anywhere we have travelled including those at home.
The resort itself is beautifully laid out with an amazing beach and view! Because of where the resort is situated the warm winds are from onshore thus creating no large waves on the beach and also keeping you from getting overheated. The snorkeling was great right off the beach due to no waves.
The water sport hut staff were super as I got a life jacket everyday for snorkeling and kayaking. We also did the 1 hour Jet Ski tour operated by the resort and it was amazing! We had two adults and one child on each machine. The two guys that brought us on the tour were fantastic and knowledgeable of their island.
Beach service staff were awesome as were the drinks and food.
Nightly entertainment and bars were great with dancing and audience participation. The kids also loved it.
Lots for young kids to do from the kids club to the beautiful splash pad!
We loved this resort so much we plan on returning in March 2020.
